Peer Review Evaluation Criteria

Manuscripts are evaluated on the criteria outlined below:

  • The appropriateness or fit for the mission of the SARPASS;
  • The significance in contributing new knowledge (advancing a field of study; or providing best practices or lessons-learned);
  • The rigor and appropriateness of the scholarship; and
  • The readability and flow of the information and ideas presented.

Every manuscript submitted to the SARPASS is independently reviewed by at least two reviewers in the form of "double-blind review". Decision for publication, amendment, or rejection is based upon their reports and recommendation. In certain cases, the editor may submit an article for review to another, third reviewer before making a decision, if necessary.
