Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

  1. The manuscript must be an original piece of work and has significant impact to Sociology
  2. The manuscript has not be published or not being submitted to publish on another journal. 
  3. The manuscript can be form of research findings, review of theories or methodology, review of policies or social phenomenon, and book reviews.
  4. Each manuscript should begin with an abstract written in English and Indonesia
  5. The manuscript should be approximately 7000 words long; however, both shorter and longer manuscripts will be considered.
  6. Reference and footnotes should be written in Chicago Manual of Style-17th edition (Full Notes). We encourage authors to use citation softwares, such as Zotero and Mendeley.
  7. All manuscripts will be peer-reviewed by qualified academics in the field; this is a process that may take weeks or months.
  8. The manuscript may be edited for style prior to publication.
  9. Authors should be willing to respond to questions from readers of their manuscripts.
